Five gallons of strong

brandy.

Two gallons of water.

One quart of bitters.

One quart of gum syrup.

One bottle of curagao.

Mix thoroughly, and filter through Canton flannel.

Take five gallons of spirits

{70 per cent).

Two gallons of water.

One quart of gum syrup.

One-fourth pint of essence of

Cognac.

One ounce of tincture of

cloves.

One ounce of tincture of

gentian.

Two ounces of tincture ofor

ange peel.

One-fourth ounce of tinc

ture of cardamoms.

One-half ounce of tincture of

licorice root.

Mix the essence and tinctures with a portion of the spirits;

add the remainder of the ingredients, and color with a suffi-
