of Harvon Greggory (Gregg)
Jefcoat as Assislallt Football
Coach.
Jefcoat is a native of Soso
now living in Moselle. He at–
tended Jones Juruor College
and received both the
bachelor's and master's
degree in physical education
from the University of
Mississippi. Before accepting
the coaching position with
East Central, Jefcoat was
football coach at South
Jones H1gh School in
Ellisville, where he also
taught social studies.
Ha\1ng received a football
scholarship to Jones, he was
named All-Star and AU
State, First Team All–
American, and Most
Outstanding Lineman in the
state while at Jones. Athletic
awards at the University of
Mississippi includir.g the

Senior football Player of
1979 and being a member of
the "M" Club. Jefcoat serv–
ed as a graduate assistant
coach and scout under Ole
Miss Steve Sloan. In 1980,
Jefcoat played professional
football as a free agent with
the Buffalo Bills. Presently,
he is a member of the
Amencan Football Coaches
Association.
Jefcoat is married to the
former Cathi Lowery of
Petal. She is a recent
graduate of William Carey
College with a degree in
elementary
education,
presently working toward a
Master's degree. The Jef–
coats will move to the
East
Central campus by late July.
A .J. Kilpatrick, beginning
has second football season at
ECJC, states that he is very
pleased to have Jefcoat join
his coaching staff and feels
that he will be a great asset
to the total football program,
especially as a line coach.
