Tops Panthers

The East Central J unior

CollegeWarrior Basketball

team travelled to Newton

for an afternoon game with

the Panthers of Clarke

College on November 14.

The Warriors defeated the

Panthers 98-83. Eddie

Griffin, a graduate ofSouth

Leake High School, was the

highest scorer for the

Warriors with 39 points.

Team members scoring

double digits were Ken

Eiland ofLouisvillewith17,

Mike Shirley of Morton

with 15, and Joe Kennamer

of New Hope, AL with 12.

The Warriors and

Warriorettes hosted

Meridian Junior College on

November 16 for their first

home games. TheWarrior–

ettes took a 71-63 win while

the Warriors lost73-68. The

Warnorettes with Pam

Coleman of Carthage

scoring 20 points and

Stephanie Townsend of

Lena scoring 18 led all the

way

In

the defeat of the

Lady Eagles. Late in the

game, the Warriors tied

with the Meridian Eagles

but could never get ahead.

Mike Shirley, son of Mr.

The Warrio rs and

Warriorettes will host the

Bears of Southwest Junior

College on December 4.

Warriorettes' game begins

at 6:30 with the men's game

to follow.
