Phillip C. Hoopes, Jr., MD is a board certified ophthalmologist practicing in Draper, Utah. He joined Hoopes
Vision in 2005 following residency training at Wake Forest University Eye Center and fellowship training in
cornea and external disease at the Eye Consultants of Atlanta. He specializes in cataract surgery, cornea disease
and surgery, and refractive surgery including; LASIK, PRK, ICL, KAMRA, and refractive lensectomy.
Dr Hoopes has performed over 20,000 vision correction surgeries and was the first US surgeon to implant the
KAMRA inlay following FDA approval. He is active in research having been an investigator for AcuFocus,
Presbia, Calhoun among other trials. He is involved in humanitarian eye care and serves on the board of Charity
Vision and ECHO and has completed 9 mission trips to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Dr. Hoopes is involved in
training other eye surgeons and has hosted visiting surgeons from all over the world as well as lectured at
national and international meetings for eye surgeons.
Dr. Hoopes currently resides in Lehi, Utah with his wife and 4 children.
