From the Gemini sky the sun
already above roofs and on the tarmac
sets fire to the withered air of these
spring days suffocated in sultriness,
between ozone and smog. After the lost
days of sun, salt and bitterness,
after the first summer nights,
sunsets will come, full of dazzling light
of the colour of planets colour
and constellations twinkling towards
other places and to another blue sky,
without cumulonimbi, clear,
to the beauty of a heinous smile
surrounded by the ruins of everything.

Dal cielo dei gemelli il sole incendia / già sopra i
tetti e sopra all’asfalto / l’aria appassita di queste
giornate / di primavera affogata nell’afa, / fra
ozono e smog. Dopo i perduti giorni / del
sole, del sale, dell’amarezza, / dopo le prime
notti dell’estate, / verranno i tramonti pieni di
luce / smagliante, del colore dei pianeti / e di
costellazioni ammiccanti / ad altri luoghi e a un
altro cielo terso, / sgombro dai cumulonembi,
sereno, / alla bellezza di un sorriso atroce: / intorno
la rovina di ogni cosa.
