SCOPE

This document has been prepared for the Safety Instrument System (SIS) associated with the

overfill protection of storage tanks It is intended to reflect the life cycle of the SIS in accordance

with IEC 61508 & IEC 61511 and to be a working document throughout the life cycle of the

Safety System.

The installation of the SIS will consist of the installation of RF type level switches in all storage

tanks. The installation will also include an actuated valve in the gasoline import line feeding

the gasoline tanks. There will be an SIS monitoring panel installed in the switchroom. Alarm

and Status data will be provided on the SIS monitoring panel and in the operations office.

The valve will be set to slow close at around 90 seconds to allow for surge pressure generation.
