Fund Description

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a special revenue fund used to account for Federal low and

moderate income housing program funds. This fund is restricted to low and moderate income housing uses.

How this Fund Generates Money for Capital Investment

The fund is issued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to fund local community

development activities such as affordable housing, anti-poverty programs, and infrastructure development.

Limitations and Other Important Factors

Overall uses allowed include: community development activities, construction of public facilities and improvements,

construction and maintenance of neighborhood centers, and the conversion of school buildings, public services, and

economic development and job creation/retention activities.

Goals for Capital Investment

In compliance with the intended CDBG purpose, the funds made available for the City's 6-Year CIP program will be

used for ongoing Installment of curb ramps city-wide to make sidewalks more accessible for the disabled,

improvements to recreational facilities located in eligible neighborhoods, and security improvements, such as

surveillance cameras, in eligible locations.
