AMONGST MEMBERS
MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL.
5th October.
Twenty-four members present.
High Court, Scrivenery Office.
A letter was read in reply from the Minister
of Justice stating the question of delays in
the Scrivenery Office, to which the Council
had drawn attention, is under consideration,
and it is hoped to make arrangements which
will obviate the necessity for any such com
plaints in the future.
Land Commission.
A letter was read in reply from the Land
Commission stating that the matter of delay
in dealing with applications for consents to
sub-divisions,
to which
the Council had
drawn attention would have attention, with
a view to having these matters dealt with
more expeditiously in future.
Petrol.
The President reported the steps he had
taken with a view to securing additional
petrol rations for practising solicitors of fiire.

Thirty-two members present.
Estate Duty Office.
In compliance with the suggestion of a
member, it was decided to request that query
forms be issued
by
the Estate Duty Office to
solicitors in duplicate for their convenience.
Vocational Commission.
In compliance with the request of the
Vocational Commission that members of the
Council should give evidence before it, the
President, Dr. Cjuirke and Mr. H. P. Mayne
were nominated to attend the Commission.
Annual Report.
The draft annual report
was adopted.

BALLOT FOR COUNCIL.
The ballot for election of Council for year
ending 26th November, 1940, will be held on
Tuesday, 21st November, 1939, from eleven
o'clock to one o'clock, in the Secretary's
Office, Solicitors' Buildings, Four Courts,
Dublin.
Voting papers should reach the
Secretary not later than one o'clock p.m. on
Tuesday, 21st November.
GENERAL
MEETING.
A half-yearly General Meeting of
the
Society will be held at half-past two o'clock,
p.m., on Monday, 27th November, 1939, in
the Hall of the Society, Solicitors' Buildings,.
Four Courts, Dublin.
