OBITUARY.
MR. HENRY R. TWEEDY, Solicitor, died on
the 2nd August, 1939, at his residence, 2
Crofton Mansions, Dun Laoghaire.
Mr. Tweedy was admitted
in Trinity
Sittings, 1876, and practised as a member of
the firm of McMahon and Tweedy, 13 Hume
Street, Dublin, up to 1931, when he retired.
He was Crown Solicitor for Co. \Vaterford
from 1897 to 1922.
MR. PATRICK J. HANNAN, Solicitor, died
on 18th August, 1939, at Church Street,
Longford.
Mr. Hannan served his apprenticeship with
the late Mr. T. V/. Delany, Longford, was
admitted
in Hilary Sittings, 1914,
and
practised as a member of the firm of Hannan
and Connellan at Longford.
He was State Solicitor for Co. Longford
from 1923 to 1925.
SIR WILLIAM FRY, Knt., Solicitor, died on
the 25th August, 1939, at his residence,
Nevin, Surrey.
Sir William served his apprenticeship with
his father, the late Mr. William Fry, Dublin,
was admitted in Michaelmas Term, 1874, and
practised as a member of the firm of William
Fry and Son at 14 Lr. Mount Street, Dublin,
up to
1927, when he retired.
He was a member of the Council of the
Society from 1886 to 1912, and was President
of the Society for the year 1895-96.
MR. PETER B. SHIEL, Solicitor, died on the
28th August,
1939, at
" La Bagatelle,"
Palmerstown, Co. Dublin.
Mr. Shiel was admitted in Hilary Sittings,
1890, and practised at Roscommon and
subsequently at 8 Earlsfort Mansions, Dublin,
up
to 1914, when he retired.
MR. LAURENCE RYAN, Solicitor, died on the
16th September, 1939, at Dublin.
Mr. Ryan was admitted in Trinity Sittings,
1889, and practised at Thurles up to 1892,
when he retired.
MR. THOMAS F. O'BRIEN, Solicitor, died
on the 26th September, 1939, at St. Anne's
Hill Hydro, Blarney.
Mr. O'Brien served his apprenticeship with
Mr. Patrick J. Kavanagh, Cork, was admitted
in Hilary Sittings, 1906, and practised at
Ouav House, Clonmel.
MR. HARRY A. P. TAYLOR, Solicitor, died
on the 20th October, 1939, at his residence,
4 Longford Terrace, Monkstown, Co. Dublin.
Mr. Taylor served his apprenticeship with
his father, the late Mr. Alexander J. Taylor,
Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Sittings,
1904, and practised, under
the style of
Taylor, Son, & Robinson, at 7 St. Andrew
Street, Dublin.
MR. THOMAS E. ALEXANDER, Solicitor,
died on the 20th October, 1939, at his resi
dence, Ormskirk, Alexander Gardens, Belfast.
Mr. Alexander served his apprenticeship
with the late Mr. David McGonigal, Belfast,
was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1899, and
practised at 29 Donegall Street, Belfast.
