MR. FRANK V. GORDON, Solicitor, died on
the 23rd February, 1938, at his residence,
8 St. James' Terrace, Clonskeagh, Dublin.
Mr. Gordon served his apprenticeship with
the late Sir A. F. Baker and Mr. J. P.
Ringwood, Dublin ;
was admitted in Hilary
Sittings, 1906, and practised as a member of
the firm of Baker, Ringwood and Gordon, at
5 Clare Street, Dublin.
MR. WILLIAM KERR JOHNSTON, Solicitor,
died on the 26th February, 1938, at his
residence, 1 Ellerslie Villas, Bray.
Mr.
Johnston was admitted
in Hilary
Sittings, 1888, and practised at 8 Leinster
Street, Dublin.
MR. ARTHUR H. JULIAN, Solicitor, died on
the 26th February, 1938, at his residence,
Ditchley, Little Island, Cork.
Mr.
Julian was
admitted
in Trinity
Sittings, 1872, and practised as a member of
the firm of Julian and O'Brien, at 43 South
Mall, Cork.
He was an Extra-ordinary Member of the
Council from 1890 to 1931.
MR. PATRICK S. GOLDING, Solicitor, died
on the 28th February, 1938, at Toronto,
Canada.
Mr. Golding was admitted
in Trinity
Sittings, 1893, and practised at Ballinasloe
up to 1927, when he went abroad.
He was Crown Solicitor for County Galway
from 1911 to 1922.
PROFESSORSHIP OF
COMMON
LAW.
The Council invite applications for the
office of Professor of Common Law to
the
Society, which has become vacant owing to
the resignation of Mr. Boland on his appoint
ment as Assistant Solicitor in the Solicitors'
Branch of the Land Commission. Particulars
of duties can be obtained from the Secretary.
The newly-elected Professor will enter on
duty immediately after election, which is to
take place on 28th April.
The appointment will be made for one
year, and
the person appointed will be
eligible for yearly re-appointment for each of
the four succeeding years.
Applications from practising Barristers or
Solicitors will be received up to the 14th
April, and applicants will be requested to
attend for interview on 22nd April. Applica
