The Surrey Leadership Youth Council

the Surrey Leadership Youth Council!
SLYC is a group of youth who’re aiming to have youth
voices heard and acted upon by the City of Surrey.
SLYC believes other youth know what’s up and can

Visual Arts
Art of the Graphic Novel
and Manga
Discover this growing media with a
professional graphic artist. Whether your
interest is superheroes, Japanese manga,
or humour comics, you’ll learn to design
your own cast of stylised characters,
plot and lay out your scenes across eye-
catching pages, and share your story in
an inventive and engaging way. Surrey
Art Gallery instructors are experienced
art educators and practicing artists.

Focus on Drawing
Do you love to draw and want to further
develop your skills? Drawing is the basic
skill needed for most forms of visual art.

Welcome to the world of pottery!

Textile Crafts to
Make and Do
Explore the many ways of creating crafts
and art with textiles. Kids will learn some
of the basic skills of knitting and weaving
while also exploring some more unique
ways of creating with textiles such as
felting and fabric dying. We will create
different projects every session so
returning students can build their skills!
