After six years, winter has
finally arrived and the show has
overtaken the books. Throners
are in uncharted territory now
– anything can happen and
anyone can die, although the
latter goes without saying. The
season five cliffhanger left one
big question dangling: is Jon
Snow really dead, and will the
Red Woman resurrect him?
Elsewhere, religious fanatics continue to hold the
balance of power in King’s Landing while Cersei plots
to overthrow the High Sparrow, and over in Braavos,
Arya discovers what a girl must do to reclaim her sight
in the service of the Many-faced God. Daenerys finds
herself back in the company of the Dothraki and learns
what happens to a former Khaleesi, and Bran, having
now become the three-eyed raven, takes a trip back
into the past, where intriguing insights into the nature
of the White Walkers and Jon Snow’s lineage are
revealed. The bloody battle to reclaimWinterfell from
Ramsey Bolton is undoubtedly the highlight of the
best
GoT
season to date. Things are finally gathering
momentum towards the end game.

GAME OF THRONES:
SEASON 6
Matt Damon returns to arguably
his best known role (apart from
being left stranded on planets)
in the fifth entry in the Robert
Ludlum-created franchise.
Although the eponymous
agent has now remembered
everything, Bourne must still
dig deep to uncover the truth
about his past – namely what
really happened to his father.
We meet him KO-ing people in
one-hit fights for money, having seemingly left the
CIA and Treadstone behind. Alicia Vikander joins the
series as a proficient hacker who’s part of a counter-
terrorism taskforce, and Nicki (Julia Stiles) is back,
trying to get her hands on some Black Ops files.
Bourne eventually returns to the fold and teams up
with Nicki, who informs him that there may have
been more to his past – and his father’s death – than
he initially believed. It’s great to have both Damon and
director Paul Greengrass back onboard, and although
Jason Bourne
doesn’t hit the relentless heights of
series’ benchmark
The Bourne Ultimatum
, it’s a
welcome return to form for the franchise following
that Jeremy Renner outing that nobody seems to talk
about.
