SKILL 1 – Hydraulic Lift – Unloading the Patient

Inform patient of procedure, bring lift to the lowered
position
Wheel patient on to hydraulic lift and apply the
brakes. Fasten lift belt if applicable.
Exit van and position yourself next to patient
Lower the lift to th e lowest position. Do not ride the
lift up with the patient.

Wheel the chair away from the van and proceed with
transport
