Seven Tales of Loss from Turkey
Aylin Graves
Aylin Graves is a translator,
fiction writer and poet from
Ankara, Turkey. She was born in
the barren central Anatolian
steppe in 1972. She graduated
from Hacettepe University with a
degree in American Culture and
Literature but then went into the
field of foreign language teaching
and delayed her writing career by
two decades.
She was recently selected for the University of Iowa,
International Writing Program’s Advanced Creative
Nonfiction Seminar from among 189 candidates worldwide.
Aylin writes both in her native Turkish and English. Her
poetry is scheduled for publication in the Found Poetry
Review in late 2015. She is currently working on her first
novel. We are pleased to debut this moving voice in our
pages.
