We had a fantastic kick off to the 2015 season this past weekend. It was great to finally get
back to the island by boat. We had a full house with only a slip or two available all weekend.
The bar area was full with good participation starting Wednesday night right through Monday.
A huge shout out to P/C Bob and Patti Watson for managing the very busy opening week and
for all the work they did to tie up any loose ends left from the work parties this spring.
The Flats gang put together a fantastic party for all of us following the general membership
meeting. They began decorating Thursday and even had us start the party early with a warm
up act during good of the order. Special thanks to that group for all their preparation and hard
work. Thank you also to the cast of Gilligan’s Island castaways:

On Sunday we had a touching flag raising ceremony followed by lunch and then the Blessing
of the Fleet with Father Steve. A well-deserved thank you to the Tiara group for preparing the
lunch once again this year.
The many improvements that were put in place this year were tested early and came through
with flying colors. P/C Watson stated that this was the most comfortable opening week in
terms of temperature in the clubhouse they have ever had. The heat pumps were put in
dehumidifier mode on Sunday afternoon after the carpets were cleaned and the carpets were
dry in only 4 hours.
