Mother Nature held out the rain for us to get the Flag raising ceremony completed. It always
manages to bring a lump in my throat. It is such a humbling experience to watch, and brings
such pride to participate in. Also a big thanks to the Pride of Michigan, their crew and officers
for their participation. It is one of the traditions of the club that make us who we are…..The
best club on the great lakes!
Just when you think you have had a full weekend it time to do the blessing of the fleet.
Father Steve came to the island as he has been doing for years and blessed our club and
member fleet. I was fortunate to participate last year when Father Steve was asked to bless
a pregnant woman and her unborn child in the island walk around, which he did without
hesitation. The miracle of birth occurred since that date and this weekend Father Steve had
the opportunity to bless the child, how cool that is!
Keep an eye on the club calendar. There are many more great plans for the upcoming
weekends this year, DO NOT miss out!
