A-1000 AC drive and Allen-
Bradley/Rockwell components
that include a servo drive, PLC
(programmable logic controller)
and HMI (human machine
interface). Technology is available
as ‘stand-alone’ (running in torque
control), with a dancer or an
accumulator.
Davis-Standard has also seen
on-going demand for its caterpillar
capstan and HPE extruder tech-
nology. It supplies multi-pass, linear
and belt wrap capstans for the full
range of wire and cable appli-
cations. The HPE offers a compact
design and is one of the industry’s
most widely used extruders. It is
known for a fast delivery and rugged
design that is energy efficient and
easy to maintain. Advantages for
wire and cable applications include
increased torque capacity for high
viscosity resins and custom options.

For the power cable market: new
rigid strander developments
improving the features of the
previous models. Either for bobbins
with diameters of 630 or 800mm
DIN or for both bobbins on the
same machine, allowing factories
to use advantages of both;
automatic bobbin loading process
either by side carriages at 90º or at
45º; higher rotating speeds to gain
production improvements; and
smooth, precise and constant wire
tension control to achieve high
quality conductor standards, etc.
For steel wire ropes: larger capacity
of machinery for bigger ropes.
Tubular and planetary closers that
are able to manufacture bigger
ropes in lower production time,
increasing machine productivity.
The use of a special new material
allows the company to achieve

improvements mainly in reliability,
low maintenance and longer life
time expectancy.
Control and special cables made
on planetary stranders using
advanced solutions for smooth and
fine tension values on elements,
including double control systems
either in the cradles and in the
formation with wi-fi communi-

For greenhouse: special custo-
mised machinery to improve the
production of steel strands
composed of two and three wires,
reaching higher outputs.
For CTC (continuous transposed
conductors): experience in this
traditional market lets the
company offer combined solutions
to achieve high quality cables with

details of its large inventory of
available second-hand machinery.
