"Managing, monitoring and evaluating sustainability"

The CEROI programme was presented in the conference titled

"Managing, monitoring and evaluating sustainability" at the

Third European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns

Conference 2000. In addition, an exhibit featuring the CEROI

Programme was set up at the market place of the Conference.

SoE Conference

GRID-Arendal represented the CEROI programme at the State

of the Environment conference 2000, Coffs Harbour, Australia.

CEROI was presented through exhibition stands, local TV and

workshops. Coffs Harbour, Australia, 28/4 - 5/5.

Stockholm Challenge Award Ceremony

GRID-Arendal presented the "Baltic Drainage Basin GIS, maps

and statistics" website at the "Stockholm Challenge Award" ex-

hibition. Stockholm, Sweden, 4-5/6.

ICLEI World Congress

GRID-Arendal was presented at the Global Cities 21 ICLEI

World Congress of Local Governments transformations for a

sustainable future. Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany, 28/6 - 2/7.

SoE Presentation for Chinese Provinces

UNEP's and GRID-Arendal's SoE environmental information

activities were presented for provinces in China. Guylin, China,

24-28/9.

Ministerial Consultation

The CD-ROM containing the Regional Environmental Report

of the Aral Sea Basin Countries; national electronic environ-

mental reports of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajiki-

stan and Turkmenistan; health highlights and action plans; in-

formation about on-going activities of the International Fund

for Saving the Aral Sea, UNDP, World Bank, WHO; maps,

graphics and other information were presented at an exhibition

at the Ministerial Consultation between Economic/Finance

Ministers on Water Management and Investments in the NIS.

GEO Presented to Norwegian Royalty

On the occasion of H.M. King Harald V and H.M. Queen

Sonja's official visit to the city of Arendal, Svein Tveitdal pre-

sented the State of the Global Environment based on

UNEP's GEO 2000 Report. In addition to the royal delega-

tion, head county and municipal officials attended the pre-
