Professor Song specializes in health psychology and psychological epidemiology. Her
research focuses on psychosocial factors that influence adolescent and young adult risk
behavior decision-making, including smoking initiation, progression, and cessation; sex ini-
tiation; gambling and unhealthy eating patterns. Song and UCSF Professor Stanton A. Glantz
were awarded a $2.6 million grant from the National Institute of Health to study
the effectiveness of anti-tobacco programs.
