PERCEPTIONS

UNITY OF FAITHS

God is one,

In many names,

We see his manifestation.

Science studies laws of entropy,

In order to prevent catastrophe,

Religion cautions against

adharma,

In order to establish

dharma.

“Creation from Shunya”

“Religion is a bridge to the spiritual - but

the spiritual lies beyond religion. Unfortu-

nately in seeking the spiritual we may

become attached to the bridge rather than

crossing over it.”

Prabhushri

Essence of All Faiths

"The Sai Religion is the essence of All

faiths and religions, including those like Is-

lam, Christianity and Judaism. The motive

behind the formation and propagation of all

these different faiths is the same, in all

cases. The founders and propagators were

all persons filled with Love and Wisdom.

Their goal, their target, their purpose and

their aim were all the same. No one had the

design to divide, disturb or destroy. They

attempted to do good, see good and be good.

They sought to train the passions and the

emotions, to educate the impulses and di-

rect the faculty of reason to paths beneficial

to the individual and society. They knew

that the mind which is the breeding ground

of desire and attachment, ambition and as-

piration, has to be cleansed and properly

oriented.

"Sai considers the practise of these dis-

ciplines more essential than blind faith in

philosophical theories. No one had the right

to advise others unless he is already prac-

tising what he preaches ....................................

Divine Ray

“Let the different faiths exist, let

them flourish and let the glory of God be

sung in all the languages and in a variety

of tunes. That should be the Ideal.

Respect the differences between the

faiths and recognise them as valid as

long as they do not extinguish the flame

of unity."

-

Baba

God is one,

Through many symbols,

His worship is done.

The basic meaning and purpose of religion is to lead

man back to his source. Real meaning of the

word 'Religion' should be grasped. It consists of two

parts 'Re' meaning 'again' and 'ligio' meaning 'come

together' or 'unite

1

. That is to say 'Reuniting with

God is religion'. People consider religion as a bundle

of doctrines and of rigorous do's and don'ts. The aim

of religion is to remind man of his divine destiny and

help to lead him back.

— Baba. ,,,

...... First, establish the reign of Love in our

own home. Let the family become a centre

of harmonious living, of sympathetic under-

standing and mutual faith. The holy duty of

man is to be ever aware of the

Aatma

that is

installed in every living being and this will

make him conscious of the kinship he has

with all beings. This is the basis of the

Brotherhood of Man and the Fatherhood of

God. Cast away the vice of egoism, the evil

of greed and the poison of envy. When you

seek joy from something outside you, re-

member that far greater joy lies in wait in

our own inner consciousness. When you are

afraid of something or a situation outside

you, remind yourself that the fear is born,

fed and fertilised in our own mind and you

can overcome it by denying it. How can fear

encounter the path of a spiritual aspirant? It

can hide in no shadow, it can pester no

Sadhak who has God in his heart. Faith in

the Almighty God is the impregnable armour

the

Saadhaka

can wear and all men in all

lands are

Saadhakas,

whether they know it

or not. Be steady. Do not waver. Keep

straight on. Hold fast to the ideal and do not

despair. Pray until God relents and do not

turn away madly, if God does not shower

His grace, when you expect it".

"Vision of the Divine"

“I do not belong to any religion. God accepts everyone and every

religion belongs to Him. So I also accept all religions and all people.

If there is no humanity, then there is no God.”

— Shirdi Sai Baba
