SAINT-AUBIN-DE-

CADELECH

(9 km)

Just before the village,

a lovely view awaits the

walker. A charming little

Romanesque church

with a Saintonge-style

carved portal stands

at Cadalech. Nearby

there’s a XVIIth century

farm and dovecote.

THÉNAC

(13 km)

Thénac Castle was built

on the ruins of a priory

mentioned from 1109.

The village is the starting

point for walking hikes.

Don’t miss the wonderful

Bastide of Puyguilhem,

founded in 1265 by

Jean de Grailly, for

the King of England.

MONESTIER

(16 km)

Founded around 1284

by officers of the King of

England, the village has

preserved traces which

are an indication of the

old Bastide’s location.

Do visit the Romanesque

church and the arcaded

house known as “the

Governor’s House”.
