WELCOME
A mericans like to supersize things, and that includes their annual
convention for all things geek – Comic-Con International.
Satisfying the enormous appetites of sci-fi fans, anime lovers,
filmgoers, TV addicts, pop vinyl, action figure and comic book
collectors, Comic-Con takes over the Californian city of San Diego
for four days each year, bringing with it a carnival atmosphere
that accentuates the experience. STACK had the opportunity to
cross it off our bucket list this year – from a meeting with current
Doctor Who Peter Capaldi and Who/Sherlock showrunner Steven
Moffat, to breathing the same air as Jennifer Lawrence at the
Mockingjay - Part 2 press conference, attending a panel in the
Convention Centre’s legendary Hall H featuring Quentin Tarantino
and his new film The Hateful Eight, and marvelling at the creativity
of the legion of cosplayers, whose costumes ran the gamut from
studio prop quality to the rudimentary cardboard and sticky tape
variety, Comic-Con delivered more than we expected. Share the
