11/12 linacs have OBI capabilities
OBI images are used:
– When bony anatomy is a good surrogate
(breast + regional nodes; mediastinal
lymphoma)
– With gated/ breath hold treatments (left-
sided breast)
– When dose is a concern (same +
pediatrics)
– When the potential of CBCT hasn’t been
evaluated yet (palliative)
– And…. As a back-up when problems with
CBCT!
