OBITUARY.

MR. EDWARD D. MACLAUGHLIN, Solicitor,

died on 2nd April, 1942, at his residence,

11 Raglan Road, Dublin.

Mr. MacLaughlin was admitted a Solicitor

in Hilary Sittings, 1881, and practised under

the stvle of Thompson & MacLaughlin at

3 Suffolk Street, Dublin, up to the year 1907-

He was appointed Sessional Crown Solicitor

for Queen's County in the year 1886, and

Crown Solicitor for the same County in the

year 1890. Mr. MacLaughlin was appointed

Chief Clerk to the Lord Chancellor of Ireland

in the year 1907, and after that office was

abolished he was Chief Clerk to the Chief

Justice

up

to the year 1926, when he retired.

Mr. MacLaughlin held the office of Presi

dent of the Incorporated Law Society in the

year 1904-05.

MR. WILLIAM F. HEARN, Solicitor, died

on 6th April, 1942, at his residence, Bellvue,

New Ross.

Mr. Hearn was admitted a Solicitor in

Michaelmas Sittings, 1885, and practised at

New Ross up to the year 1925, when he

retired.

EXAMINATIONS RESULTS.

At

the Preliminary Examination

for

intending apprentices to Solicitors, held on

the 8th and 9th April, the following passed

the examination and their names are arranged
