Irish Land

Commission.

The Secretary was directed to communicate

with the Irish Land Commission regarding

complaints as to alleged delay in the issuing

of certificates of redemption value of annuities

by that Department.

Unqualified Person.

The opinion of Counsel on a case submitted

to him for advice as to the institution of

proceedings against an unqualified person

was received and it was ordered that pro

ceedings be instituted in accordance with

Counsel's opinion,

Search Fees.

A Report from a Committee of the Council

proposing general principles with reference to

search fees for documents was adopted. This

report will be published very shortly in the

GAZETTE.

Registry

of Deeds.

A proposal that Common Searches in the

Registry of Deeds on the sale of property

should be continued by the Registry officials

so as to include the deed of conveyance to

the purchaser was referred to a Committee

of the Council for a report as to its advisability

and as to the fees chargeable, for such con

tinuation searches.

HALF-YEARLY GENERAL MEETING.

A Half-yearly General Meeting of

the

Society was held on Monday, the 17th May,

1943,

in

the Solicitors' Buildings, Four

Courts, Dublin, the President, Mr, John B,
