The report of the Court of Examiners on

the results of First and Second Irish Exami–

nations was submitted and adopted.

Section 47.

An application by a solicitor under Section

47 for renewal of his certificate was granted.

THE STATUTORY COMMITTEE

The Chief

Justice has appointed Mr.

Eugene F. Collins to be a member of the

Statutory Committee in room of the late

Mr. Daniel J. Reilly.

OBITUARY

MR. SAMUEL A. MACKEY, Solicitor, died

on the 2nd February, 1941, at his residence,

Glenvar, Sallymount Gardens, Dublin.

Mr. Mackey was

admitted

in Hilary

Sittings, 1886, and practised at Lurgan up

to 1890, after which he came to Dublin and

was associated with the firm of Messrs.

T. W. Hardman & Sons, 14 Molesworth Street.

MR. ROBERT H. CARSON, Solicitor, died

on the 5th February, 1941, at Belfast.

Mr. Carson served his apprenticeship with

the late Mr. Harbinson of Magherafelt, was

admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1891, and prac–

tised as a member of the firm of Dickie and

Carson at Omagh, County Tyrone, up to

1929, when he was appointed Chief Crown

Solicitor for Northern Ireland.

He had been Sessional Crown Solicitor

for Co. Tyrone from 1905 to 1922 and Crown

Solicitor for Co. Tyrone from 1922 to 1929.

MR. LAURENCE CONROY, Solicitor, died

on the 5th February, 1941, at his residence,

48 St. Helen's Road, Booterstown, Co. Dublin.

He served his apprenticeship with the late

Mr. Patrick S. Golding, Ballinasloe, was

admitted

in Trinity Sittings,

1916,

and

practised at Ballinasloe up to 1930, when he

was appointed an Assistant Justice to the

Metropolitan Courts, Dublin.

MR. WILLIAM P. MOODY, Solicitor, died

on the 7th February, 1941, at his residence,

Railway Street, Strabane.

Mr. Moody served his apprenticeship with

the late Mr. John Mackey, Ramelton, was

admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1889, and

practised at Strabane.

MR. SAMUEL H. CRAWFORD, Solicitor, died

on the 8th February, 1941, at his residence,

2 Gracepark Gardens, Drumcondra, Dublin.

Mr. 'Crawford served his apprenticeship

with Mr. Francis C. D. Joynt, Dublin, was

admitted

in Hilary Sittings,

1909,

and

practised as a member of the firm of Joynt

and Crawford at 1 and 2 Foster Place, Dublin.
