When analysis minor folates using a modified AOAC 2013.13 to include other folate forms, no minor

folates, apart from 5ͲMeͲTHF were able to be quantified.

The addition of a deconjugase step did liberate minor folates, indicating the presence of some

polyglutamate forms. When focusing on 5ͲMeͲTHF, as mentioned in the SMPR, the impact on the total

vitamin B9 is particularly low

: 1.0 % in average

.

Other minor folate polyglutamates not mentioned in the SMPR are present mainly in the soy based

products (around 10 % of total folates). They represent in average 2.4 %. When excluding soyͲbased

products, they represent only 1.2 % of the total folates contribution.
