50 Years: The Department of Boating and Waterways, 1957 to 2007
real estate brokers, the department investigates consumer complaints
for fraudulent acts and works with the Attorney General to prosecute
those violating the law.
In 2006, the staff of the Yacht and Ship Broker Licensing program
began to develop a new license examination with the help of subject
matter experts in the department and from the yacht broker industry.
In early 2007, the department began using the new exam as a pilot to
receive preliminary feedback. After some fine tuning, the new exam
was rolled out for permanent use in mid-2007.
Personal Watercraft (PWC) classes
are held for law enforcement.
Marine
patrol officers operate PWCs as a means
of patrol and search and rescue.
