The Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department
operates eight parks within the city limits. The City’s
parks system totals 391 acres, including several
specialty facilities such as ball fields, a swimming
pool, fishing lake, walking track, tennis courts,
gymnasium, and recreation activity centers. Other
facilities in Douglasville’s park system include West
Pines Golf Club and Fowler Field Soccer Complex.
Hunter Park is the city’s largest park and is the
headquarters for the Douglasville Parks and
Recreation Department. Hunter Park features a
16,000-square-foot community center and covered
playground, a five-acre lake surrounded by a walk-
ing track, a miniature train, a gazebo, and several
picnic areas. The park’s athletic complex includes
seven Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) cer-
tified tennis courts, 10 ball fields, a special needs
