BOARD
The Health Research Board (formerly the Medical
Research Council of Ireland) funds research into the
major health problems affecting Irish society. Its cur-
rent programme includes research which aims at devel-
oping improved treatments for Alzheimer's Disease,
Leuka emi a, As t hma, Arthritis, Sch i z ophr en i a,
Stroke and AIDS.
All research grants are awarded strictly on merit and
the Board has a well deserved record of scientific
achievement
