Profile
measuring gauge
Microstudio SAS introduces a new version of its camera profiler, LED2D, of particular use
in the manufacture of springs. Supplied with new, easy to use software, LED2D is said to
offer absolute precision and immediate results.
The part or spring to be measured is simply placed anywhere on the test table.
Measurements appear immediately on the screen and a drawing of the piece,
in CAD format, can be exported.
Other test equipment from Microstudio includes:
On-line camera control system
•
Spring load tester
•
Torsion tester
•
Compression spring analysers

Die measuring
Die Quip specialises in measuring
products for draw dies, tooling and
quality control labs.
The
problems
encountered
when
inspecting small diameter dies is due to
the difficulty in getting enough light into
the die. Die Quip has solved this with
fibre optic light pads for new or existing
microscopes. The light pads provide
enough adjustable bright white light to
be able to find defects and prevent them
from going into production.
Die Quip’s other new product for
measuring dies is plug gauges treated
with black oxide to show when gauges are
wearing out of tolerance. No more guess
work or gauge measuring – simply use the
gauge until the treatment wears off and
then replace it.
These gauges are available in ZZ Class
(0.0002") in plus or minus tolerance,
have a 10 micro-inch surface finish and
are hardened to 60-62 Rockwell C. They
are available individually or in sets from
0.011 to 0.5" (0.25–12mm).

measurement
inteliSENS Series 2 is the new non-
contact wire and cable length measuring
technology from Proton Products.
The inteliSENS Series 1 system has been
implemented in over 2,000 wire and
cable processes. The Series 2 performs
25,000 measurements per second, and is
suitable for the fastest processes. Multiple
communication standards for PLC and
networks are provided as standard.
The non-contact laser doppler system
allows length measurement within 0.02%
on all wire and cable production lines.
Important savings can be obtained by
reducing the shortages or over-lengths
amongst intermediate process stages,
or by reducing the giveaways at shipping
lengths.
Integration of the technology into any
existing or new line is described as simple
and straightforward.
