COMMITTEE

FEATURE

TheMember-owned structure of The American Club provides

ample opportunities for Members to participate in Club life

by serving on one of 19 Committees. These committees help

chart the course for The Club by working closely with The

Club’s Management to set policies and procedures that

help to ensure The Club remains a successful, thriving and

vibrant community.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee (MC), consisting of no more

than 12 Members, has oversight of all membership matters

through the development of membership policies and

procedures that are administered by Management. The

MC plays a critical role in supporting The Club’s desired

membership level and mix to ensure a vibrant and close-

knit Club community. The MC acts as an advisor to the

General Committee (GC) on Membership demographics,

requests for membership transfers, new Corporate and

Service membership applications, status of wait lists,

etc. They also make recommendations to the GC on

membership fees, dues, transfer fees and absent status

policies. Additionally, the MC acts as liaison between

Members and the Membership Department for questions

on membership fees, dues, payment plans, transfer fees,

absentee requests and resignations.

The MC meets on a monthly basis and works closely with

Management to develop membership assumptions for

the annual budget, as well as the annual membership

marketing plan to achieve budgeted membership activity.
