The American Club Squash group has had a hectic first four months of 2016. In addition to regular socials on Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Saturdays and internal box ladder matches every two months, our team also had the opportunity to take
part in 4 major events.
SINGAPORE SQUASH RACQUETS ASSOCIATION (SSRA) VETERANS LEAGUE
This league, for the more mature players (over 40), saw our Members competing against teams from other Singapore clubs
on a weekly basis till the end of May. With 4 players representing each game, The Club finished in the top half of a very
tough competition.

HONG KONG SQUASH TOUR
In March, a seasoned group of 15 Club players and supporters made a weekend
trip to Hong Kong to team up with The Hong Kong American Club for a very
spirited match against the Hong Kong Football Club at their beautiful premises –
housing no fewer than 15 squash courts!
Although losing narrowly to our hosts, our players and supporters had a thoroughly
enjoyable time both on and off the courts, including a lunch, dinner and drinks
hosted by HKFC, as well as a late night disco party by Blake Olafson for those
who still had enough energy to kick up their heels!
This tour followed other very successful trips to Penang Sports Club and The
Sarawak Club in Kuching. More such events and reciprocal visits are being
planned to ensure improvements in our playing standards as well as to foster
lasting interclub friendships.
