Fluid rebrand

Novinium acquired the Cablecure brand

name with its acquisition of UtilX. “The brand

is well known throughout the industry and

the logical choice for our injection fluids,”

said Wade Pfeiffer, senior vice president of

sales and marketing for Novinium.

Fluids now available include Cablecure

iXL, an injection fluid that provides two

life-extending components to repair

water-tree damage and disrupt the

inception of partial discharges, while

simultaneously upgrading the existing cable

with materials to extend its useful life for up

to 20 years.

Cablecure 732 and 733 cable-rejuvenation

fluids deliver multi-tiered life-extension

materials that repair water-tree damage

and add materials to upgrade the cable

with elements found in today’s new cable.

Cablecure 732 is used on cables up to

250 MCM, with Cablecure 733 for use in

larger-diameter cables or where conductor

temperatures can exceed 60°C. OSHA

and DOT approved, Cablecure 732 and

733 contain no known carcinogens or

reproductive toxins and offer a 40-year

warranty.

“The strength of the Cablecure brand

continues to open newmarket opportunities

as our company grows,” Mr Pfeiffer added.

Cable jumpers

Molex has expanded its line of Premo-Flex

cable jumpers with the addition of round

flat cable (RFC) and hot bar soldering cable

versions. The new custom cable jumpers are

durable, flexible and available in a variety

of pitches, cable lengths, thicknesses and

formats for use in multiple applications

including

automotive

electronics,

consumer devices, home appliances, and

the medical sector.

David Falla, associate product manager

at Molex, said: “These new options provide

designers with even greater design flexibility

while enabling them to maximize PCB

space, shorten lead times and reduce

component costs.”

Utilizing a simple solder wave assembly

process, Premo-Flex RFC jumpers eliminate

the need for connectors or wire stripping.

Available with polyester, aramid or

polyimide insulation, the jumpers meet

REACH requirements and withstand high

temperature ratings. The Premo-Flex hot

bar jumpers are permanently affixed to

PCBs by soldering, creating a durable

board-to-board connection that also

withstands high vibration.

The flat cable design can be folded and

bent for applications with space restrictions.

Both options include hybrid terminations

that feature zero insertion force (ZIF) or low

insertion force (LIF) to through-hole soldering

with round-to-flat or round-throughout

format options for interchange to different

PCBs.

Wire cutting with air
