New addition to the family
Beta LaserMike has released its new family of high-speed
AccuScan 5000 diameter and ovality gauges. This latest
offering enables manufacturers to produce higher quality
products in less time and with less waste.
The new dual-axis AccuScan 5000 Series gauges perform
high-speed diameter and ovality measurements at 2,400 scans
per second, per axis, and are claimed to provide the highest
single-scan accuracy in the industry. The improvements in the
single-scan calibration algorithm ensure each scan is highly
accurate and reliable.
The high-speed tolerance checking option permits the early
and precise detection of lumps and necks to eliminate costly
product waste. The STAC (stranded, twisted, armoured, and
corrugated) logic software option provides accurate max/min
OD or enveloped readings at a higher rate, allowing for faster
process control of complex cable constructions.
Beta LaserMike offers a range of AccuScan 5000 Series
models that effectively measure transparent, translucent, and
opaque products up to 80mm in diameter. All gauges offer
highly flexible communications including RS-232, Ethernet/
IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, devicenet, profibus, profinet, CANOpen,
analogue, and digital.
An integrated air purge system keeps windows clean for
maximum uptime and reduced maintenance. The ultra-bright
display and operator interface enables users to easily
configure and view measurement data. All AccuScan gauges
are ruggedly constructed and sealed to IP 65 (NEMA 4)
standards, for protection in the harshest environments.

CM Caballe manufactures different
types
of
rotating
equipment
for
armouring any type of cables (from power
to fibre optic cables).
There are two ways of armouring the
cables:
With steel tapes with overlap
With a layer of steel wires
The chosen type will depend on the cable
standard and the required reinforcing. For
steel tapes Caballe offers rotating eccentric
steel taping heads with pads up to 800mm,
and also longitudinal shielding equipment
with flat or corrugated steel tapes.
For steel wires, there are different types
of stranders specially designed for this
application. Specifically, for low tensile
wires:
Single twist stranders for take-up reels
up to 2,000mm
Drum twisters for take-up reels up to
4,000mm
Rigid stranders for pay-off bobbins
typically DIN 630mm
With the single twist stranders and drum
twisters, the steel wires can be supplied
from baskets (preferred) or from bobbins.
When armouring with high tensile
steel wires, a backtwist in the wires is
completely necessary, so it must be done
with a planetary strander. Caballe offers
a complete range of planetary stranders
specially designed for this application
with the following outstanding features:
Different cage compositions for
bobbins typically from 500 to 800mm
Variable backtwist if necessary
Casting steel cradles for long life of
the machine
Mechanical brake with compensation
for constant tension (optionally brake
by AC motor)
Special preforming heads
