Interest on Solicitors'
Costs.
At an interview to-day between the Hon.
Mr. Justice Wylie and the President of the
Incorporated Law Society (Mr. L. J. Ryan)
it was agreed as follows :
If allocation of the purchase money takes
place within one year of the appointed day,
Solicitors' costs shall carry full interest on
the equivalent bonds from the appointed day.
If allocation takes place within two years
of the appointed day, Solicitors' costs shall
carry 75 per cent, of the interest on the
equivalent bonds from the appointed day ;
and if allocation takes place after two years
from the appointed day, the costs shall carry
50 per cent, of the interest on the equivalent
bonds from the appointed day.
The expression " Solicitors' Costs " shall
be understood to apply not only to owners'
costs of sale, but also to costs of superior and
intervening interests and incumbrances and
other claims attaching
to
the purchase
money.
When there is more than one appointed
day, the costs shall be segregated for the
purposes of calculating the interest aforesaid.

SERVICE OF CIVIL BILL.
In the case of
Lambert
v.
Dnane,
on the
28th June, in the Circuit Court of Dublin,
on an application for summary judgment for
possession of certain premises in which no
appearance
had
been
entered by
the
defendant, and in which service of the civil
bill had been effected by the civil bill officer
of the Court, whose affidavit of service stated
that he had served the defendant at his
residence " per his wife," Judge Shannon
decided that the sor ice was bad, having
regard to Order VI, Rule 4, of the Circuit
Court Rules, the wife not being a " relative
or employee " within the meaning of the rule.
