COUNCIL MEETINGS.

2nd February.

Twenty-seven members present.

Apprentices' Debating Society

A Special Committee was appointed to

consider the working of the Debating Society,

and to make such recommendations as the

Committee may consider advantageous to the

interests of the Society.

Law Books.

It was referred to the Library and Circuit

Courts Committee to jointly consider what

steps, if any, can be taken by the Council

to bring the law books dealing with the law

and practice in the Circuit and District

Courts, and with Registration of Title and

Estate and Legacy Duties, up to date.

23rd February.

Twenty-five members present.

Death of Mr. W. Martin.

The Council passed a resolution expressing

its deep regret at the death of Mr. W. Martin,

Provincial Delegate for Ulster on the Council,

and conveying its sympathy to Mrs. Martin

and his son, Mr. D. M. Martin, Solicitor.

Death of Mr. W. V. Seddall.

The Council passed a resolution expressing

its deep regret at the death of Mr. W. V.

Seddall, a past President of the Society, and

conveying its sympathy to Mrs. Seddall and

his daughters.

Courts of Justice Act.

A Special Committee was appointed to

consider what amendments are desirable in

the Courts of Justice Acts, to be embodied in

any legislation which may be introduced

giving effect to amendments suggested in the

Report of

the Joint Committee of

the

Oireachtas of November, 1930.

OBITUARY.

MR. WILLIAM EARLY, Solicitor, died upon

the 2nd February, 1933, at his residence,

Dublin Street, Carlow.

Mr. Early was admitted in Trinity Sittings,

1891, and practised at Aughnacloy, County

Tyrone, up to 1913.

He was Clerk of the Crown and Peace for

County Roscommon from 1913 to 1926, and

County Registrar from 1926 to 1928, when

he retired, and resumed practice as a Solicitor,

at Carlow.

MR. WILLIAM FREWINT , Solicitor, died upon

the 3rd February, 1933, at his residence,

" Ard-na-Chree," Tipperary.

Mr. Frewin was admitted in Hilary Sittings,

1885, and practised at Tipperary.

MR. WILLIAM MARTIN, Solicitor, died upon

the 3rd February, 1933", at his residence,

" Hilden," Monaghan.

Mr. Martin was admitted in Hilary Sittings,

1890, and practised at Monaghan.

He was a member of the Council of the

Society from 1924 to 1926, and was Pro–

vincial Delegate for Ulster on the Council of

the Society since 1927.
