Twenty-nine members present.

Courts of Justice Act, 1924.

A Special Committee of the Council was

appointed to consider and report upon the

recommendations contained in the Report of

the Joint Committee of the Oireachtas on the

Courts of Justice Act, 1924. These recom–

mendations contain a number of important

suggestions

for amending

the Courts of

Justice Act.

Auctioneers Bill.

A report from the Parliamentary Com–

mittee upon a draft Bill entitled " The Irish

Auctioneers, Valuers, House and Estate

Agents Bill," was adopted. The draft Bill

was sent for consideration to the Council by

the Irish Auctioneers' and Estate Agents'

Association.

OBITUARY.

MR. WILLIAM G. ARMSTRONG, Solicitor,

died upon the 13th March, 1931, at his

residence, 19 Morehampton Road, Dublin.

Mr. Armstrong was admitted in Hilary

Sittings, 1879, and practised at 67 Dame

Street, Dublin.

MR. JOHN O'CONNOR, Solicitor, died upon.

the 18th March, 1931, at his residence, Glen-

lough House, Crossmaglen, Co. Armagh.

Mr. O'Connor was admitted in Michaelmas

Sittings, 1889, and practised at Crossmaglen.

MR. GEORGE H. LYSTER, Solicitor, died

upon the 24th March, 1931, in Dublin.

Mr. Lyster was admitted in Hilary Term,

1874, and practised at 34 Dawson Street,

Dublin, up to 1920, when he retired.

He was a member of the Council of the

Society from 1894 to 1912, and filled the

office of President of the Society during the

year 1907-08.

MR. ERNEST P. G. BRIDGE, Solicitor, died

upon the 27th March, 1931, at Petersfield,

Hampshire.

Mr. Bridge served his apprenticeship with

the late Mr. William Bridge, Roscrea ;

was

admitted

in Hilary Sittings,

1906,

and

practised at Roscrea up to 1923, when he

went to England, and was admitted, under

provisions applicable to those who served in

the Great War, a Solicitor in England in

1924, and practised at Farnham, Surrey.

MR. PETER HUTTON, Solicitor, died upon

the 28th March, 1931, at his residence, 46

Foyle Street, Londonderry.

Mr. Hutton served his apprenticeship with

the late Mr. Philip O'Doherty, Londonderry ;

was admitted in Easter Sittings, 1925, and

practised at Londonderry.
