Andrew Dalgleish, Master i/c Netball
The top memories for the 1st VII must include an opening day victory against Cheltenham
Ladies’, a nail-biting win over Cheltenham and triumph in the triangular tournament with
Dean Close and Stowe. The team was made up of Lower Sixth pupils with some younger
girls; Mia Hammersley (Fifth Form) and Ashlyn Dickinson (Fourth Form) played up in the
senior team and acquitted themselves wonderfully. The U15B’s were the most successful
team and the U15A’s also created an impressive record. The girls benefited from the
unwavering support and commitment of their coaches including Tess Horn who joined the
school as 1st VII coach. The number of girls playing netball was at its highest for some time
and it was pleasing to field A-D teams at U15 and U14 level.
