By Andrew Dalgleish, Master i/c Tennis
The girls’ 1st VI was inspirationally led by Romey Oulton The highlight of the season was
the demolition of Cheltenham and Romey, paired with Serena Lloyd, qualifying for the
second day at the prestigious ISTA competition. The Under 15A and B girls’ teams lost just
once in a busy season and often won their matches in very convincing style. Far fewer boys
played tennis but under the leadership of Adam Hahn, the 1st VI competed with schools
with more extensive boys’ tennis programmes. Teddies can boast of some very strong players
including the three Elvidge brothers who have the notable record of appearing at some point
across all teams. Greg Kratt distinguished himself by captaining the senior 1st VI as a Fifth
Former and with his regular partner Jack Power he played with great maturity and class.
