Management Consulting Business Symposia

Within the framework of the 10th EDF RPSDP, Caribbean Export

provides support to the management consulting industry in

the form of annual Business Symposia in collaboration with

the Caribbean Institute for Certified Management Consultants

(CICMC), GIZ and Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE). A

significant feature has been the B2B meetings between

CARIFORUM and European management consulting practitioners

and firms. This is indicative of a focus on increasing the trade in

services under the CARIFORUM-EU EPA. The country spread of

Europeanfirms participating in theseBusiness Symposia includes

Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. Under

the 10th EDF, representatives from 13 BSOs have participated in

the Symposium.

Enhancing BSO Capacity

CAIPA Mission to Europe

From March 12-24, 2011, 20 CAIPA members journeyed to

Europe on a Study Tour of best practice of IPAs in Ireland,

Belgium and Austria. The aims of the mission were to increase

the Caribbean IPA’s understanding of investment facilitation in

these countries; facilitate dialogue with donor agencies such

as the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Business Climate

(BizClim), Pro€nvest and the European Investment Bank (EIB);

provide training in marketing and investment promotions;

and provide an opportunity for the Caribbean IPAs to present
