T h e result o f the exam ination n o t
being m ade p ublicly know n for a week, the young
m a n , w ishing to gladden th e h e art o f his p a re n t,
com m unicated in an e x ce lle n t, m o d est, sensible
letter to his m o th er the resu lt as regarded h im self,
begging h e r to keep it an entire secret from e v ery
one else till its public announcem ent.
