Saudi International Petrochemical Company
(Sipchem) has begun commercial operation
of acable insulationpolymers plant ownedby
its affiliate, Gulf Advanced Cables Insulation
Company.
The plant will produce several types of
polymers used for fabricating electrical
cable insulation materials. The polymers,
which will be marketed by Gulf Advanced
Cables Insulation Company, are used to
manufacture electric cable insulators.
Raw materials for the project include low
densitypolyethylene(LDPE)andethylenevinyl
acetate (EVA) provided by the International
Polymers Company (IPC) —another Sipchem
affiliate.
