Conclusions
There is no optimal technique for APBI, all techniques have pros and cons
It is very difficult to directly compare the techniques partly because:

They are fundamentally different
•
Different definition of target and treated volume
•
Different total dose, fraction number, dose/fraction
•
Different timing in relation to surgery and systemic therapy
•
Different demand for technical skills
•
Different cost and cost-effectiveness
•
Some techniques very dependent on breast size, localization of lumpectomy
cavity
•
Different potential for causing acute and late morbidity
•
Importantly also different local control rates
