Techniques, change in seroma after surgery

Results:

Average intermarker distance (AiMD) between fiducial markers was strongly

correlated to seroma volume

At simulation median seroma vol was 35.3 cc, and median AiMD was 3.35 cm

From simulation the average reduction in AiMD was 10.8% (range 0-36%) to

beginning of RT (mean 10 days) and 19.1% (range 0-41%) to completion of

RT (mean 30 days)

In 33 out of 34 pts there was a significant decrease in seroma vol during RT

Average half-time of seroma was 15 days, and change followed an exponential

decrease. RT was found to have minimal impact on change of seroma over

the treatment course
