If in any year ending in September the change in the relevant index is a negative number, the
increase will be nil.
The pension increases described above are not applicable to pension benefits derived from
the payment of AVCs. You will be able to choose whether you want your AVC benefits to be
paid with pension increases when they first come into payment.
