Dual-range pressure calibrator for gas custody transfer measurements
Comtest
, local distributor of Fluke test and
measurement tools, has introduced a new
‘Ex’ Dual Range Pressure Calibrator for use
in classified environments, offering ranges,
accuracies and capabilities
ideal for gas custody transfer
measurements.
The new Fluke 721Ex, with
IECEx and Atex Ex ia IIBT3 Gb
(Zone 1) ratings, is available
in 14 models and can be used
with a Fluke 720RTD probe for
temperature measurement.
Fluke has also introduced 700
series pressure test hose and
pump kits which minimise the
difficulty and leaks when con-
necting a pressure calibrator
or pump to a device under test.
The quick installation, with-
out the use of tools, increases
efficiency, and saves time.
These pressure accessories are
a best-in-class set of premium hose and No
Tools Required (NTR) pressure connection
accessories.
The rugged Fluke 721Ex Dual Range
Pressure Calibrator, featuring two isolated,
stainless steel, pressure sensors with ac-
curacies to ±0,025% Full Scale, provides
measurement of static pressure, difference
in pressure and (optional) temperature of
gas flow.
The Fluke 721Ex is configured by choos-
ing either a 1,1 bar or 2,48 bar low-pressure
sensor, together with one from seven high-
pressure ranges, including 6,9, 20, 24,5, 69,
103,4, 200, or 345 bar.
The large backlit display will show two
pressure readings and a temperature read-
ing simultaneously. Up to five frequently
used set-ups can be stored.

gas pressure regulator
The natural gas market, locally and abroad, shows an ever-increasing demand for
operational excellence.
EnergasTechnologies
, leading supplier of high-end and spe-
cialised equipment to the oil and gas industries in Southern Africa since 2001, has
answered this need in the local context with the RMG 5020 Gas Pressure Regulator
from Honeywell. In today’s natural gas industry, it is imperative for pilot-operated
gas regulators to provide reliable performance in applications ranging from gas
distribution systems to gas-fired power plants and processing facilities, as well as
commercial and industrial gas services. As an innovative company geared to adapt
its offering to clients, EnergasTechnologies carries Honeywell’s RMG 5020 gas pres-
sure regulator as a solution for gas pressure reduction in municipal distribution, gas
transmission as well as industrial plant applications. “The RMG 5020 also features
state-of-the-art external pilot operation for accurate and safe control of outlet pres-
sure and represents the benchmark
for dependable performance in this
sector,” comments Laetitia Botha,
Product Engineer for Energas Tech-
nologies.The RMG 5020 Gas Pressure
Regulator from Honeywell offers
highly precise and reliable pressure
reductions for a host of operations
in the gas sector. With this technol-
ogy designed simply for longevity,
users can enjoy a range of benefits,
including: a small number of moving
parts; high sensitivity and accuracy;
precise control of set outlet pressure;
ability to handle flow variation; low
maintenance requirements; and low
differential pressure requirements.

for ethylene plant
Yokogawa
subsidiary, Yokogawa Solution
Service Corporation, has received an order to
deliver control system solutions for an ethylene
plant that will be built in Plaquemine, Louisiana
for Shintech Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Shin-Etsu
Chemical Co.
The order is fromToyo Engineering Corpora-
tion, the engineering, procurement, and con-
struction (EPC) contractor for this project. The
new plant will have an annual output of 500 000
tons. Ethylene is a basic feedstock used in the
production of many different kinds of chemicals.
The construction of this ethylene plant in the
U.S. is a first for a company with roots in the
Japan market. To control the main production
facilities at this plant,Yokogawa Solution Service
will deliver the CENTUMVP integrated produc-
tion control system, the ProSafe-RS safety
instrumentation system, and other products.
Yokogawa believes that it was able to win
this order thanks to the high reliability of its
products and its solid track record in delivering
solutions for projects in Japan, through which
it has demonstrated excellent engineering and
project execution capabilities. Capitalising on
its Japan expertise, large installed base, and
global network, Yokogawa Solution Service is
helping its customers expand their businesses
outside Japan.
