In a statement made during a ceremony
for inaugurating communication projects
in Semnan province, the head of Iran
Telecommunications Infrastructure Company,
MahmoudKhosravi, saidthat theconstruction
of 13,000km of fiber optic network is on the
agenda for 2015.
“The establishment of this fiber optic network
costs over $400billion, which only the
government can afford,” he added.
Khosravi also said that about 5,000km of
fiber optic cables were established in 2014.
The government has paid special attention to
information technologyandcommunications
fields and helped foster such developments.

development of infrastructure network in
Semnan province. Mr Khosravi noted that
since August 2014, 486km of fiber optic
network, worth $8.3m, were constructed in
the province.
