business & market news

AS9100 certification

Superior Tube has announced that

it is now certified to AS9100, having

been successfully assessed by the

independent certification organisation

Det Norske Veritas.

Based on the ISO 9001 series of

quality management systems, AS9100

was introduced to provide a globally

harmonised standard specifically for

the aerospace industry. By establishing

recognised procedures and controls

and promoting a culture of continuous

improvement, AS9100 helps to reduce

and prevent errors, leading to cost

reductions across the entire supply

chain, including design, manufacture,

maintenance and distribution.

SuperiorTube’squalitysystemsmanager,

Deborah Kamertz, commented, “Gaining

AS9100 certification is an important

step for Superior Tube and a tribute

to the hard work and dedication of

everyone involved in the certification

process.”

Kevin Heaphy, global director product

management and commercial sys-

tems, added, “By reinforcing stake-

holder trust in the company, AS9100

will help us take advantage of new

business opportunities internationally

as well as supporting our strategic

expansion

in

key

aerospace

segments.”
