Upholstery: Care + Durability

Care and Durability

To ensure our customers fully enjoy their purchase for many years to come, remember to

review the care instructions with them at the time of purchase. In addition to the enclosed

product information, you should share the following points.

Fluff, turn, and rotate seat cushions and back pillows regularly to allow even wear and

fading and to control welt slippage.

Brush or vacuum regularly.

Dab spills immediately with a soft white cloth dampened with distilled water (not tap

water). Test fabric cleaners first in an inconspicuous area. Do not saturate fabric with

cleaner. Pat instead of rub to avoid altering texture. Clean stain from outer edge to

prevent “circling.”

• Thorough cleaning is

recommended every 12 to 24

months. Do not wait for severe

soiling. We recommend a

professional in-home upholstery

cleaning service.

• Do not remove cushion casings

for cleaning. Unlike slipcovers,

upholstered casings are not

meant to be removed.

• For velvet upholstery, if areas of

the fabric appear to be crushed,

take a piece of the same fabric

and rub against the crushed spot.

This will help raise the pile back to

its original height.
